| SOMETHING BOLS The original gin: Genever was born in Holland as a botanical medicine in the Middle Ages, eventually becoming popular for its flavor – derived from mixing neutral grain spirit and sweet ‘moutwijn’ (malt wine), then adding infusions of juniper berries and a range of spices. ‘Dutch Courage’ is the base for many stylish cocktails that are wildly different from drinks made from any other type of gin. In 2008, the proud house of Lucas Bols launched a modern rendition of their legendary 1820 Genever formula: the world’s most authentic spirit. Strangely perfect. | ||
