Goodwill Lager ambassador Dino Archie is the anti-Grinch

Dino Archie is all about the holidays. He says it gives him, and everybody, a free pass to not be a piece of shit for a few weeks a year.

But it’s true. As with a lot of the material in the LA/Vancouver-based performer and writer’s comedy, the funny is rooted in fact. Chalk it up to tradition, or marketing, or the dulcet tones Grandma Got Run Over by A Reindeer on repeat, but even the shittiest humans tend to act a little less so this time of year.

Personally, Archie is pretty optimistic – like a year-round anti-Grinch – but he’s also got a strong habit of telling it like it is. These characteristics, plus the fact that he’s a friend of the fam who’s performed at many Donnelly Group venues in Vancouver over the years, made him the perfect person to front the Goodwill Lager initiative.

Made at The Parkside Brewery with help from Bomber Brewing, Goodwill Lager serves as an extension of Donnelly Group’s annual Toy Drive, offering $1 from the sale of every can back to the charity that raises toys and funds for families in need over the holidays.

“You should just do this,” says Archie. “It’s easy to be about you, in your phone, in your life. You’re always living in your own head, so to get out of it and give to someone else? Yeah, give me some more of that… And this Goodwill Lager thing? This is easy! You are receiving on this one.”

Archie donated his talents to the 2019 campaign, gracefully riding a child’s tricycle back and forth in a studio filled with toys, dressed like a self-described “dripped-down Mr. Rogers,” for the camera.
