We're mixing up classic Negronis and variations for a cause

Freehouse Collective is again taking part in this philanthropic cocktail celebration for the duration of this year's Negroni Week, we will be expanding our offerings to include 2 variations of this iconic cocktail and the original.

About Negroni Week

In 2013, Imbibe Magazine launched Negroni Week as a celebration of one of the world’s greatest cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes worldwide.

Since then, Negroni Week has grown from 120 participating venues to thousands of venues around the world, and to date, the initiative has raised over $4 million for charitable organizations.

The Cause

Slow Food is a global movement of local communities and activists across more than 160 countries seeking to change the world through food and beverage.

As the official Negroni Week giving partner, the organization addresses so many of the needs participating Negroni Week venues have been most interested in supporting over the past 10 years. This includes sustainability, education, equity, and diversity, with hospitality, food, and drink woven throughout.

Slow Food also has a global footprint, with chapters and initiatives in countries and cities all over the world, and most fittingly, it is an organization with roots in Italy, the birthplace of the Negroni. 


What's on the Menu

The Classic

The iconic bitter cocktail. Sophisticated & simple at the same time, the bittersweetness of Campari plays beautifully off of the Italian vermouth. The cocktail can dance in a variety of directions from whatever gin is chosen. Beefeater provides an extra punch of citrus peel in flavour and aroma.

Pineapple Kingston Negroni

A tropical rum-influenced riff on Joaquin Simo’s Kingston Negroni. Adapted from a recipe created in 2019 by Chicago’s Lost Lake bartenders Paul McGee & Shelby Allison. A slightly sweeter, tropical version of the bitter icon.

Cold Brew Negroni

Adapted from an early 2000s recipe from New York City bartending legend Pam Wiznitzer. The sweet silkiness of the cold brew mellows some of the Negroni’s rougher edges, and the inherent chocolate notes found naturally in the coffee beans meld beautifully with the botanicals of the Campari and sweet vermouth. It’s an elegant, slightly caffeinated take on the classic recipe.

The mission of Slow Food’s Negroni Week Fund is to provide direct support to local community-led projects, and to magnify global networks that are transforming global food and beverage systems—networks like the Slow Food Cooks’ Alliance, Coffee Coalition, Wine Coalition, and Snail of Approval.

With this partnership, we envision a world where everyone can enjoy food and beverage that is good for them, good for the people who grow it, and good for the planet.
